Aim of the project and project goals: In the post-war period the role of Norway as a “Peacemaker” in the Middle East has gone side by side with Norway’s role as a “Peacekeeper”. However, Norway’s - and to be more precise, the militaries’ - contributions to peacekeeping have not at all been submitted to research in the same way as the peacemaking-role. This project seeks to examine Norway’s contribution to United Nations Truce Supervision Organisation (UNTSO) from 1948 and till today.
