SORISK workshop
The 3rd and final workshop of the SORISK (the Social Determination of Risk) project, entitled (Dis)orders of Credit, is currently well under way in Oslo with impressive international attendance. Key note speakers are Urs Stäheli of Hamburg University and Joseph Vogl, Humboldt University Berlin. The general panels for this workshop address issues such as Monetary Orders, ‘Credit and Panic’, Governance and Anxieties.
SORISK is a part of the broader SAMRISK programme on Societal Security and Risk, funded by the Research Council of Norway. The premise of the SAMRISK programme is based on the importance of understanding underlying causes of crises and preventing them from taking place. Thus, the programme aims to enhance knowledge about threats, dangers and vulnerability as well as crisis prevention and crisis management, whilst upholding and respecting basic human rights and privacy.
