The application of a gender perspective in the analysis of different stages of conflict has been limited. One of the main consequences of this is that women's experiences, knowledge and efforts to a large extent have been left out. The prevailing understanding of the subject matter is therefore mainly based on male premises. This book is the result of a seminar series dealing with this issue. The seminars were organised as a co-operational effort between the International Peace Research Institute and the Norwegian Institute of International Affairs (NUPI).
