The spectacula appearence of the "arc of revolutions" from Morocco to Bahrain in the first months of 2011 has given a new impetus and indeed crucial political relevance to the research on the phenomenon that has since the early 2000s acquired the poetic but not very meaningful name of "color revolutions".
