The links between migration and conflict have increased in complexity during the past couple of decades. Beyond the obvious conection in the form of refugee migration flows out of conflict areas, migration which is not necessarily caused by armed conflict has become more conflictual. The combination of stong immigration pressure and restrictive immigration policies often has effects in terms of vulnerability, marginalization and even fatalities.
