Freelance journalist in the Middle East and North Africa since 1983 for several newspapers and periodicals, among them: Bergens Tidende, Dagbladet, Dagsavisen/Arbeiderbladet, Bistandsaktuelt, Klassekampen, Morgenbladet, Ny Tid, Det Fri Aktuelt (København). Specialised in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Also reports from Western Sahara, Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya, Jordan, Lebanon, Syria and Kurdistan (Turkey, Iraq and Iran).

Some freelance consultancy services for Norwegian People’s Aid, Norwegian Centre of Human Rights and Exponor (film company).

Research and Analysis Officer in the international observation force ‘Temporary International Presence in Hebron (TIPH). Election observer in Palestine and Yemen.

Research Assistant at the Centre for International Studies/Fafo on two projects on Palestinian refugees within the frame of the Refugee Working Group of the Multilateral peace talks in the Middle East.

Coordinator of medical projects in Lebanon for the Norwegian Aid Committee (NORWAC).

MA in political science, University of Oslo
Cand. Mag. (equivalent to B.A.), University of Oslo and Oppland Distriktshøgskole in the areas of Political Science, Modern History and Arabic. Arabic studies at the University of Jordan, Amman.
