Research Interest

Kristian is an associate researcher at PRIO and a PhD Candidate with the Department for Political Science at the University of Oslo. He is also the book review editor for the Journal of Peace Research

Kristian's research interests lie at the intersection of urbanisation, migration, environmental change and conflict.  His PhD looks at the political dimensions of urban crime and social violence. Other research has focused on environmental change, migration and violence in South Asia; migration and remittances in Norway; and  youth and political violence. 

Kristian holds a BA in Business, and a BSc (Hons.) in Psychology from the University of Queensland in Brisbane, Australia. He also is an MSc. Development Studies graduate of the London School of Economics and Political Science.
