From Childhood to Suicide Bombing

PRIO invites you to a film seminar during the Films from the South festival. The film chosen for this seminar is called Death in Gaza, focusing on how children are sucked into a conflict primarily between adults. These children are the hawks and the doves of the future. What is it that makes some of them willing to sacrifice their lives as suicide bombers? The Panel Debate will focus on these main topics of the film.

Venue: Filmens Hus - 'Tancred', Dronningens gate 16, down-town Oslo
Time: Thursday 14th October 18:30

The film has English subtitles. The panel debate will be conducted in English. Read more about the film here.

After the screening of the film, the audience will meet a panel for a short debate led by Kristian B. Harpviken:

Panel:
Kristian B. Harpviken (Programme Leader, PRIO)
Frida Nome (Expert on Palestinian Suicide Bombers)
Fida Amin (NLH-Student with her childhood in the Deheishe Camp, Bethlehem)
Patrick Regan (Visiting Professor, the Centre for the Study of Civil War at PRIO)
