Diaspora and Conflict Panel
Transatlantic Science Week Houston
On 15 November 2012, PRIO and the George Washington Diaspora Research Program co-host a panel on diasporas and conflict at the Transatlantic Science Week in Houston. The panel focuses on the impact of diasporas, migrant communities that maintain economic, social and political ties with their countries of origin, on peace and conflict. Speakers include associate professor Stephen Lubkemann (GWU), senior researcher Cindy Horst (PRIO), doctoral researcher Ibrahim A. Noor and assistant professor Jeronimo Cortina (University of Houston). The panel discussion will be facilitated by PRIO director Kristian Berg Harpviken.
