Marit defended her PhD dissertation on Monday 11 June at the University of Oslo. The thesis is titeled Bridge over Troubled Water - Interaction in International River Basins.
She has been a Doctoral Researcher at the Centre for the Study of Civil War in the Working Group for Environmental Factors in Civil War.
The committee consisted of

The oponents at the defence were Professor Sara Mitchell, and Dr. Mark Zeitoun.
