CORE Mid-Term Conference in Varanasi

On the 19th of March the CORE project will hold its mid-term conference at Banaras Hindu University in Varanasi, India, to present initial results from the research carried out in the project. The CORE project will also engage in a discussion with local civil society and representatives from the Indian government and the EU delegation to India.

The CORE project, which is funded by the European Commission under the Seventh Framework Programme, seeks to analyse the premises and operation of governance initiatives in conflict transformation processes through a combination of fieldwork, qualitative analysis and theory development. The project aims to fill the gap in knowledge about the impact that governance agendas have on local conflict dynamics, especially in the cases where identity mobilisation is a prominent factor.

The delegation from PRIO include, J. Peter Burgess, Lars Even Andersen, Elida Kristin Undrum Jacobsen, Kristoffer Lidèn, Jason Miklian and Jonas Gräns
