PRIO Gender, Peace and Security Update (Issue 2, 2011)

We are happy to share with you the second issue of the PRIO Gender, Peace and Security Update this year. In this issue you will find an article about Margit Wallström, UN Special Rapporteur on sexual violence in conflict, and her recent visit at PRIO where she met with Norwegian civil society. You can also read about a meeting of the Norwegian 1325 network and efforts to follow up the new Norwegian strategic plan for the implementation of resolution 1325, about new research on prosecution of international sex crimes, and about research on the impact of legal pluralities on gender justice.

The PRIO Gender Peace and Security Update is an electronic newsletter launched by PRIO’s Gender Team in response to growing interest among the public for information about women, peace and security issues.

The newsletter will keep readers informed of the latest developments both internationally and in Norway in relation to UN Security Council Resolution 1325 (2000) on Women, Peace and Security and subsequent resolutions.
