Teaching, Tasks, and Trust - Functions of the Public Executive

Scott Gates has recently published a book together with John Brehm from the University of Chicago.

This book explores the role middle managers play in teaching and supporting the front-line employees who make a bureaucracy work. The authors employ a range of sophisticated modeling and statistical methods in their analysis of employees in US federal agencies, police departments, and social service centers. The book is part of the Russell Sage Foundation's series on trust.
