A forum for debate and research in law, policy and practice
This Forum—formerly known as the Forum for International Criminal Justice and Conflict (FICJC)—aims to identify and facilitate discourses on key issues in international criminal and humanitarian law. Matters of interest to the Forum also encompass humanitarian affairs, criminal justice, truth and reconciliation and other questions surrounding the two fields of law and related disciplines. Through its seminars, workshops and publications, the Forum brings together legal academics and practitioners, government officials, NGO representatives, philosophers, political scientists and others.
The Forum does not compete with similar activities already in place or contemplated elsewhere. Rather, it is an informal and flexible initiative. Those wishing to collaborate with the Forum are encouraged to propose joint events for consideration. Forum events do not take place at fixed intervals. Instead, they are driven by the topicality and scholarly/practical potential of the issues addressed.
The Forum is co-ordinated by Morten Bergsmo and Nobuo Hayashi under the auspices of PRIO's Ethics, Norms and Identities Programme. The Forum receives administrative assistance from its interns and consults Norwegian as well as international experts.
