For about 40 years, Cyprus has been physically divided and playing host to the United Nation’s third longest peacekeeping mission. The well-oiled narratives of the Greek-Cypriot and the Turkish-Cypriot communities' official histories have left little room for dialogue or mutual understanding. A new documentary funded by the Norway Grants raises questions that resonate with every frozen conflict on the notions of truth, history and victimhood. The screening will be followed by a panel discussion.
The doors open at 18:30, and a light meal will be served.
The film seminar starts at 19:00.
Free entrance! No registration necessary.Organizers: Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Peace Research Institute Oslo (PRIO) and Oslo Dokumentarkino.
This event is part of the National Science Week (Forskningsdagene).
